US and Afghan Taliban sign historic peace deal after 9/11

The United States and Afghan Taliban signed a peace deal on Saturday after years of long hectic negotiations,  to put an end to the 18-year-old long war / bloodshed in the country. The Ceremony held in Doha.
Taliban's chief negotiator Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar signed the peace accord on behalf of Afghanistan, while Zalmay Khalilzad signed on behalf of Washington. 

The signing ceremony was attended by Afghan Taliban, Afghan government officials and leaders from US, Qatar and Pakistan.
US  Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was also present at the   ceremony. 

The US will now  announce a timeline for withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan in exchange for guarantees from the Taliban that they will not allow the militant groups to operate in Afghanistan.
